Want to share a particular blog post with he world? We’re happy to help. After searching through a half-dozen or so plugins of the sort, we settled on Sociable. Pretty cool little plugin, looks nice, supports dozens of social networks (of which we picked just a few) and generally rocks.
How do you like the new “Share:” setup? Want to see another social network button in the mix? Post in the comments!
P.S. If you’re wondeirng where the Share buttons are on this blog, there aren’t any. Yet another reason to check out the “real” Oredigger blogs!
See anything different on this site, or the other Oredigger blogs? Probably not, but if you’re a content manager you’re probably wondering “What the <expletive deleted> happened to the backend of the blogging software?” You got questions, we got answers:
WordPress MU 2.7. It’s actually quicker ease-of-use-wise than previous versions of WordPress, which is pretty good, considering how easy it is to get around WordPress in the first place. Plus, there are just plain more features in this, the latest version of the world’s biggest blogging software (last we checked, anyway).
In case you’re wondering, WordPress 2.7 has been out for awhile, however the multi-blog version of the system has only just now become available in full-blown release form for download. Hence the choice of tonight as the upgrade period.
Questions or comments about the new system? That’s what the comment area is for!
As part of the process of making the blogs the best they can be, we’ve moved off of 1&1 (if you read computer magazines they’re the ones with the huge ad inserts) and onto MDDHosting. The service is fast, centrally located in Dallas (close enough to Denver for high speed, far enough away for low cost) and has top-notch customer support. So if you want a web host, check them out…clicking here would be nice because it’ll tell them who sent you.
Let us know about how the site “feels” in the comments…along with ways to improve it!
